It is the morning of day two and every single one of us are already very busy. Dakota and Janean introduced our team, they did an awesome job, and the breakfast was also very, very good. ;)
I just have to say that this whole experience has been different then what i thought it would be, but it has been good so far.
Everyone is working so hard and everyone is coming up with some great stuff!
The conference has been really fun, but I'm going to thoroughly disagree with the bacon comment. Both Jessie and I agreed that we've had pieces of bacon that tasted like soap. And a direct quote from Morgan about the bacon, "It looks like the inside of my stomach cooked." So there you have it, the bacon was not, in fact, that great after all. And now you have... The Rest Of The Story.
The first day we arrived at the conference everyone was so excited, we were bouncing off the walls--literally! But even then we got down buisness and worked ourselves to the bone... beyond even perhaps! All the stations we were at; Newsletter, Photojournalism, Podcasting, Video, all the heartfelt and creative products we had created were practically made from our blood, sweat & tears! The conference was absolutly amazing! Everyone; our teachers, fellow students (friends hopefully), the people we'd interviewed, etc., were positivly amazing! They we very polite and gave us extreme ammounts of attention! All the presenters were willing to answer our questions and spare us a minute of their time (which, by the way, all the presentations were extremely interesting). It was nothing like I had figured it would be like! When presenters were given books written my Silken Laumann as gifts I doubted that we'd be getting any... but I was sadly mistake and for that I am grateful! The food was amazing! The first night I couldn't stop snacking on all shrimp, the thin bread & sticks! The breakfast we had was simply filling (I love bacon & muffins)! By the second day I couldn't stop drinking the tea, I was on my 5th, 6th, 7th helping! It was really comfortable. Like being at home, except without toilets installed with automatic flushers, or sinks with automatic sensors--which by the way is extremely cleaver; no wasted water engery! ...It was like being a child again; innocent to descrimination, war, abuse, famine, etc. (in all its forms)! Even though we were to act professional; look it & be it, we were still allowed to be ourselves! It was like everyone could relate! I learned alot about rural education & the plans we have in order to keep them rural! I learned more ways to deal with technology, tips for becoming a journalist or artist (in music & video), leadership skills & courage, etc., etc. I especially enjoyed the smiles & laughs that I recieved & in return shared! By the end of our last day we were still as hyper as ever! But it was a real drag to know that it was our last day with our teachers, friends, presenters, etc. On the way home all Jessie, Tye & I could talk about was how much a good time we had & how it was the first time we'd ever felt that good in such a long time! We talked about how much we'd miss our teachers & friends, how we couldn't wait to hear from them or see them again! We wanted all their emails so we could email everyone individually (especially our teachers)!

Here i am, typing my post, because i'm pretty much useless until everyone else has their interviews recorded and put on the pc.
ps. i mean this in the least offensive way as possible....but because Morgan is a vegetarian, she has a bias towards the bacon and the debate on it.
You're all wrong!! Clearly the potatoes and the pie defeat the whole purpose of even having bacon here!!! Btw having a good time!
